Meet the Founder

Michelle Farmer

BAH, MACP, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Michelle Farmer is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), holding a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Studies and Psychology. She has a background in addiction counselling and a deep passion for holistic health and wellness, bringing an intentional mind–body–spirit approach to her work with clients.

Hello!

We are healed through connection, not isolation.

Outside of the therapy room, Michelle finds balance and renewal in nature, holistic wellness practices, and strengths-based Pilates — a recent passion that energizes both her mind and body. She cherishes time with friends and family, whether in the quiet of the country or by the beach, and feels equally at home taking long drives through farm country or exploring new restaurant spots in the city - a country-city hybrid through and through (equal parts boots and brunch).

At heart, she is also a homebody, happiest unwinding with a bit of reality TV or painting freely whatever comes to mind. Michelle brings this same curiosity, playfulness, and authenticity into her work, creating a warm, grounded space where clients can explore, grow, and reconnect with themselves at their own pace - because she believes that meaningful healing happens through connection not isolation.

On most days, you’ll find Michelle working at a treatment center in Toronto, providing psychotherapy to individuals navigating addiction and concurrent mental health challenges. She also practices psychotherapy at a group private practice in the Beaches, supporting those coming from all walks of life with a variety of therapeutic needs. Michelle is now welcoming new clients to Michelle Farmer Psychotherapy.

Michelle actively participates in continuing education, clinical consultation, and supervision to deepen her skills and maintain ethical, evidence-based practice.

She believes therapy can be both meaningful and enjoyable, and that the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of lasting change.

You don’t have to carry this alone.

When you’re ready, I’d be honoured to connect with you.
